• Take a Biking Adventure Through Nature

    Biking has always been a fun family activity loved by millions for generations. It is a great outdoor activity for all ages. Washington has often been called the hub of biking and cycling in the Pacific Northwest filled with trails for all skill levels. Regardless of where you go biking will be a fun journey through nature.

    It is important to understand all the necessary safety precautions before you head off into your nature journey. First thing is first, don’t forget your helmet, kneepads, elbow pads, and any other safety guards you or your family may need. Make sure to adjust your tires so that they are properly inflated and ensure that your gears are oiled and ready to go. Next, pick a fun and safe route that will be good for everyone and is well suited to your family’s skill level. Finally, after picking the trail of your choosing, make sure you read the rules of the park and abide by them accordingly.

    Here are some great trails for your family. See how many you can explore this spring and summer!

    Burke-Gilman Trail: This is a 20-mile trail that ranges from Fremont to Kenmore and cuts through the beautiful University of Washington. It also goes around Lake Washington, providing a great view of the waterfront and Seattle Skyline. The trail is open to runners, bikers, walkers and those just exploring the area.

    Green Lake Trail: Green Lake has been one of the most favorite parks for fellow Seattilites. The park serves as a home for hundreds of wildlife species including various trees and plants. The freshly constructed 2.8-mile path around the lake is great for runners, walkers, bikers, skaters and anyone who is trying to take in the scenery.


    Alki Beach Park: The Alki Trail encompasses the northern and eastern part of West Seattle. A widen sidewalk is provided anyone wanting to bike away from the street and curb. Not only is this sidewalk less crowded for those riders, but it also provides a beautiful view of one of the most popular Washington beaches.

    Lincoln Park: This park is one of West Seattle’s major multi-use parks where one can enjoy a quiet playground or 3.9 miles of biking trails. There are also 4.6 miles of walking paths for those who enjoy running or walking. There are picnic shelters, acres of playfields and even an outdoor heated saltwater pool so that your day at Lincoln Park is one to remember.

    Snoqualmie Valley Trail: This river trail starts from McCormick Park in Duvall all the way to Rattlesnake Lake in North Bend. The path cuts through long stretches of the Cascade foothills and is a great mountain biking scene. The elevation gain is about 500 feet, but it comes with beautiful views of the valley.
